COVID-19 Register of Deeds Notice

Effective May 22nd the State of NC moved into Phase 2 lifting of COVID-19 restrictions. While some guidelines are less strict, our office is still maintaining certain protocols. It is advised that only the parties conducting business come in, no additional family members.

We are still requesting that any service you need that can be done on-line, please do so, such as requesting certified copies of vital records, and copies of deeds, powers of attorneys, or other documents.

Our Passport Acceptance Office has re-opened. Please phone our office at 336-342-8820, ext 2224 to make sure you have the correct fees and documentation for mailing. Applications are available on-line for you to have filled out in advance.

For lenders and attorneys Electronic Recording is still the preferred method of filing documents; however, we accept documents by mail on a daily basis and accept over the counter filing.

Marriage license applications may be filled out on our website as well, which limits ones’ exposure in the office. While appointments are not necessary you may phone our office for assistance.
