CALL BEFORE YOU COME … New Operational Changes to Protect Citizens and Employees at Rockingham County Governmental Campus!

WENTWORTH, NC (March 18, 2020) - CALL BEFORE YOU COME represents new, operational changes to protect citizens and employees' health and safety at the Rockingham County Governmental Campus. Constituents are urged to please call 336.342.8100 to first determine if their needs may be met via phone, email, mail or online services. Then, starting  Wednesday, March 18th, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., citizens entering the Governmental Campus, 371 NC Hwy. 65, in Reidsville, 27320, will drive to a bright red tent for Rockingham County Governmental Center; OR a bright green tent for Rockingham County Health & Human Services (DSS). A county representative will greet and talk to each driver about his/her needs and contact the specific county department who can assist. The county department will call the driver with details on how they can assist them and next steps to follow.

This new, Monday through Friday procedure, will steer visitors from county lobby areas to support social distancing, per Monday's directives by President Donald Trump to help prevent spreading the Coronavirus. Customers will receive personal service regarding specific needs when they talk with a county representative assisting them near the tent. Citizens are asked to please bear with these changes for the time being in order to protect all involved. This process will remain in place as county officials regularly evaluate needs based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the NC Dept. of Health & Human Services/Division of Public Health.

This is particularly important since some county employees will be working from home in order to facilitate social distancing. Essential services such as law enforcement, fire, EMS, 9-1-1, and Public Health, will continue as usual. Rockingham County will assess operations on a daily basis to determine if future modifications are needed.

Questions or concerns may be forwarded to the Rockingham County Manager's Office, during normal business hours, at 336.342.8101 or by using this link:

Medicaid Managed Care
For immediate release
December 3, 2019

On November 19, 2019, The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) announced the suspension of Medicaid Managed Care that was scheduled to go live February 1, 2020 until further notice.

If you are a Medicaid beneficiary, nothing will change.  The beneficiary’s primary care provider (PCP) stays the same and access to behavioral health and I/DD services will continue through the current process.  The Medicaid Contact Center (888-245-0179) is available to address questions from beneficiaries and their families, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST.

Medicaid beneficiaries will be notified via mail when Managed Care resumes.  If an individual’s Medicaid coverage period ends before Managed Care resumes, eligibility will go through the same yearly review and recertification process used today.
