  • Rockingham County 4-1-1 provides a June 2019 Citizens' Academy Preview with new Co-Chairs Justin Thacker of Ruffin and Julie Talbert of Eden. Here's the link to the video:

The Citizens' Academy is a free, exciting, 10-week, interactive program on Thursday evenings, from 6 to 8, between Sept. and Nov., at Rockingham County Governmental Center, 371 NC Hwy. 65, Reidsville, 27320.
Thacker and Talbert graduated from the Citizens' Academy two years ago and will serve as co-chairs of the Citizens' Academy Steering Committee for the 2019 Fall Class. They invite Rockingham County residents, business owners, and Rockingham Community College students (18 years old and above), to apply for the Fall Class by July 31st. Leanna Lawson of Ruffin recently provided dedicated leadership as Chairman of the Rockingham County Citizens' Academy Steering Committee, along with Vice-Chair Barbara Boudreaux of Wentworth. Other members of the Steering Committee: Robert L. Pankey of Ruffin, Fleecie Ellington of Wentworth, Juanita Nunley of Ruffin.
Citizens' Academy participants will meet key county elected and administrative leaders who will explain county governmental programs and operations. A delicious meal is served before each class. The Academy was developed by Rockingham County Government in 2012.
