Spay/Neuter Assistance Program
Rockingham County NC
The Program How it Works Participating Veterinarians

What is Spaying/Neutering?
They are surgical methods used to provide birth control for animals.  Spaying refers to the procedure for a female and neutering for a male animal.

Why Spay or Neuter ?
Reduce Overpopulation:
Each year,  millions of cats and dogs are killed – at least  half in pounds and shelters, the rest by injury, poisoning, exposure, starvation and disease.

Improve Pet Health:  Early spaying or neutering reduces the chance of breast cancer in pets, as well as ovarian cysts, uterine disease, and inflamed prostate.
