Grading Information

    The sanitation grading of Food Establishments is based on a scoring system so that a score of at least 90 percent is an A; a score of at least 80 percent and less than 90 percent is a B; a score of at least 70 percent and less that 80 percent is awarded a C. Permits are revoked for establishments that receive a score of less than 70 percent.

     A credit of two points on the score is available for each inspection of a restaurant, food stand or drink stand if a full-time manager or other full-time employee responsible for operation of the establishment has successfully completed an approved food service sanitation program in the last three years.
