HOSTS HIV/AIDS STRATEGIC PLANNING MEETING

Rockingham County Department of Public Health and

The Rockingham County Healthy Carolinians is a Certified Partnership of the Governors Task Force.  The mission of the Partnership is to advocate, guide, and assist Rockingham County in planning and implementing health care strategies to promote healthy lifestyles, improve health status and to increase the years of quality living for all residents in the county.  In order to accomplish the mission the Partnership recruits various health agencies, businesses, faith organizations, and the general population to work together to address health issues and concerns. 

The Rockingham County Healthy Carolinians Partnership consists of a Steering Committee.  Each Steering Committee member is:

  • Responsible in guiding the vision of the Partnership and addressing the broader issues of the county
  • Provides direction to the workgroup’s determining its activities and focus
  • Maintain that the Partnership is addressing the Standards for Certification provided by the Office of Healthy Carolinians and the Governors Task Force

Community Health Assessment 

The Rockingham County Healthy Carolinians and its partners conduct a Community Health Assessment every four years. The Community Health Assessment identifies health concerns that the citizens of Rockingham County would like to address.  These health concerns are identified as the Priority Areas.  The Rockingham County Healthy Carolinians Partnership responds to these Priority Areas by organizing the community to work together to improve the health status within the Priority Area.

  • Overweight/Obesity
  • Lack of Preventive Measures
  • (Lack of) Ability to Attain Basic Needs
  • Unemployment
