Technical Review Committee (TRC)
The Technical Review Committee (TRC) was created to review and approve major land subdivisions in Rockingham County, and to carry out other functions authorized by ordinance. The Unified Development Ordinance defines a major subdivision as any subdivision with six or more lots, or one that involves the development or extension of a new public road.
The TRC is composed of, but is not limited to, the following members: a member of the Planning Board, a licensed engineer, a District Engineer from NC Department of Transportation, a licensed surveyor, and staff members from the Health Department, Soil Conservation Department, Fire Marshal’s Office, and Planning Department. Representatives from commonly used utility companies are also invited to attend TRC Meetings.
TRC meetings are held on the second and fourth Thursday of every month, unless the schedule is interrupted by a holiday. Meetings may also be canceled if there is no business to be taken before the TRC. Please click on the link below for the TRC meeting schedule. The location of TRC meetings varies from month to month.
