The Human Resources Department provides and administers services to all County departments in accordance with Federal, State, and local laws. Services include:
Benefits: The County offers a comprehensive benefits package to full time and some part time employees. The package includes medical, vision and dental coverage, participation in the NC Local Government Retirement System, flexible spending accounts and paid vacation, sick and holiday leave.
Employee Records: The HR Department maintains all employee information, records and files.
Employment: The HR Department organizes and coordinates the County recruitment, screening and selection process. The goal for this service is to assure equal opportunity employment for all citizens and applicants.
Safety and Risk Management: The County has an occupational and work place safety training program. Additional parts of this service are evaluating accidents, administering the workers compensation program and other support services to enhance work place safety.
